First some background information:
A member of my family who uses a lot of minutes on their phone but is not at all bothered about what handset they have has offered to give me their next upgrade handset (which will be the iPhone 3G) on the condition that he has the SIM Card from it thus meaning he has the “contract sim” with the free minutes etc.
So my questions are:
Will this work? I know it has worked before as I’ve done it before, but never with an iphone.
Are the SIM Cards in iPhones interchangeable with other phones, or will I have to wait for the 3G Pay as you Go iphone to come out and then buy one of those SIM’s to use.
And finally, does anyone have any idea when the Pay as You Go iPhone is coming out :)

And 10 cents a minute for any other calls. Anyway I took my sim card and put it in a new cingular phone so I could upgrade my phone and keep the prepaid plan. I upgraded to the LG CE500. Everything was going fine until a friend was playing in my phone and changed some things. I hope somebody can tell what the settings connection settings should be. I go to Menu, then settings, then connection. There are several things listed and I know it’s wrong. What should it be set on. My friend had put it on a t-mobile setting which makes my phone not even be able to work right. Please answer if you know anything about this.

he constantly says that he wants nothing to do with me and that i only have a mother and that i should just prentend like he’s not even there because he wants me to leave him alone. for my birthday, my mom was supposed to get me a new cell phone but she went out of town so my dad had to do it. he complained even though it was MY MOM PAYING FOR IT. and recently i lost it at a friends house and there’s no way of getting it back so i asked my father if we could get me a new sim card (which is free) and i could use my fathers old phone which he has no use for. he said no and explained how he didnt want me to have a phone in the first place and how ungrateful i am for having one for even a short period of time but my sister has had around 4 or 5 phones since she was 10. what should i do..? i’m tired of not having a real father figure and i want him to treat me how he treats my sister or even better.

I came across a few sites (below) and found out that I would have to unlock the SIM to proceed with my plan. That procedure seems to work, but my situation is different and now here is my question:

I got the year long waranty.
Around November the music stopped working entirely and only vibrate would work, then the camera stopped too and if i click the camera button the phone freezes and shuts off.
Then about a week ago all of the sudden it said “Sim Card Rejected” and i can’t place calls, make calls, or send/recieve any text messages.
Today i am going to the T-mobile store to hopefully get the entire phone replaced. It will be free of charge, correct?
Since i have the warranty. I also called and they said the Sim card would be free because it must just be fried, but i also need a new phone, same model, just a replacement.
